LILLIAN LOIS GUINN GIARA

Ms. Lillian Lois Guinn Giara, 94, a native of Corbin, Kentucky, a former resident of Montgomery, Alabama for 20 years, and a long time resident of Mobile, Alabama, died Wednesday, August 15, 2007.

Ms. Giara was a former member of St. Joan of Arc Parish, where she was a member of the Alter Society for many years. She is currently a member of Our Savior Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil John Giara Sr.; and her daughter, Lillian L. "Dimples" Giara who lies to rest in the Catholic Cemetery, Mobile, Alabama; one greatgrandson, Steven Blake Foster, who lies to rest in Pensacola Memorial Gardens, Pensacola; great-grandchild, baby Sheldt, buried in Pine Crest Cemetery, Mobile, Alabama; her parents, Robert Earl Guinn and Martha Ellen (Vaden) Guinn and her inlaws, John and Julia Olma Giara, who lie to rest in the Kiwanis Cemetery, Corbin, Kentucky; one sister, Lassie Guinn (Clarence) Miracle, who lie to rest in Phoenix, Arizona.

She is survived by two daughters, Wilma Jean Sheldt Foster (Wilburn Roy) White of Pensacola and Geraldine Marie "Gerri" Vance of Mobile, Alabama; one son, Emil John Giara Jr. (Gussie) of Billerica Massachusetts; one half-sister, Phyllis of Alexandria, Kentucky; one half-brother, Joe Guinn of Cleveland, Ohio; four granddaughters, Sheila Marie Foster Tuma and Angela Leigh Foster of Pensacola, Emileigh Vance Foote of Mobile, Alabama and Debbie Giara Rawson of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania; seven grandsons, Robert Earl "Robbie" Sheldt Jr. of Mobile, Alabama, John Curtis and Steven Vernon Foster of Pensacola, James Wesley "Jimmy' Foster of Gulf Breeze, Robert Edward Giara of Billerica, Massachusetts, and John Gregory and Robert "Arby" Vance of Mobile, Alabama; 21 great-grandchildren, Lauren Nicole, Lindsey Noelle and Lisa Nanette Sheldt of Mobile, Alabama, Matthew Patrick, Katelyn Rose and Erin Grace Foster of Gulf Breeze, Amanda Foster, Stephanie Darlene Newkirk, Shannon Marie Owens, Shawn Curtis Tuma of Pensacola, Nichole Tilene Foster of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Christopher and Matthew Rawson of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, Jeffrey Robert and Jonathan James Giara of Billerica, Massachusetts, Johnathon and Courtney Foote, Tabetha and Tiffany Vance, of Mobile, Alabama; five greatgreat grandchildren, Serena Blue Davis, Christopher Gage and Blake Anjel Dunn of Pensacola, Jacob Joseph Michael "JJ" Martzall of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Carson Reed Cooper of Mobile, Alabama; five nephews, Donald, Doug, Ronald, Waymon & Laymond Miracle; one niece, Myrna Gail Hawthorne and their children in Phoenix, Arizona and elsewhere.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2007 at Our Savior Catholic Church, 1801 Cody Rd South, Mobile, Alabama 36695, with the Reverend Father David Tokarz officiating.

Interment will be in the Catholic Cemetery, 1700 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, Mobile, Alabama.

The family received friends for visitation on Friday, August 17, 2007 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home. A reception followed the service at the church.

Honorary pallbearers were her grandsons from Pensacola, Mobile, Alabama and Billerica, Massachusetts.
