PJC presents 'Speed the Plow'

The Pensacola Junior College Lyceum series will present the play "Speed-the-Plow" 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Aug. 23-25, at the Hagler Auditorium, Pensacola campus.

When Pulitzer Prize-winning author David Mamet's satirical play opened in New York in 1988, Newsweek described it as: "A brilliant black comedy, a dazzling dissection of Hollywood cupidity…"

At the heart of it all: Hollywood producers Bobby Gould and Charlie Fox engage in a verbal boxing match centered on the eternal debate of art versus money. Mamet also is author of "Glengarry Glen Ross" and "American Buffalo" - and screenplays "The Untouchables," "House of Games" and "The Verdict." These days, he is known as cocreator of CBS's hit "The Unit."
