Photography class starts Aug. 13

The Wide Angle Photo Club will begin a free four-part instructional series on Basic Photography this month at their August 13 meeting.

The four one-hour modules will be presented by retired Navy photography instructor Tom Coffelt during the club meetings at ARC Gateway, 3908 N. 10th Avenue, at 7 pm on the second Monday nights of August through November.

The lessons are designed to help novices hone their skills and provide a refresher for more experienced artists. Guests are welcome to attend the presentation and stay later for the club business meeting if interested.

In Module One, Coffelt will discuss the features of a digital single lens reflex (SLR) camera. Future sessions in September through November will cover exposure control, photographic composition, and Photoshop Elements. Participants are encouraged to bring their cameras.

Mentor time begins earlier at 6:15 pm for anyone who needs photography advice, and a member photo share time will be included in the club meeting after 8 pm.

New members are welcome to join at any time. For more information on WAPC, go to their web site at www.wideanglephotoclub. org.
