Jace Amberson and Wade Niles combined on a three-hit shutout, while Sam Joyce went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Wave past the Raptors.

Fossil Park, a Clearwater-Fla. based team who lost to the Wave twice in the state tournament, jumped out to an 8-0 first inning lead and never looked back against the Wave on Sunday.

The Wave pulled to within 8- 2 when Adam Colston and Nick Liebig scored. Amberson, Corey Nolan and deMahy scored in the second inning to get the Wave within three, but from there, Fossil Park scored one in the third, four in the fourth and two in the fifth.

The Wave scored single runs in the fifth and sixth innings. Gordon scored in the fifth, while Zane Gill, who went 2- for-3 with a double, scored in the sixth.

The Wave were held to just five hits - Amberson, Fournie and Colston accounted for the other three. Amberson also drove in a run in the loss, as did Gordon.

The Wave could have had a rematch with Fossil Park if they lost Monday and the Wave wins one Monday and another on Tuesday.

A total of eight teams advance to the Overall Championship, which started on Wednesday. The Wave has to win nine consecutive games to win the title and at least six to equal their fourth place finish last year as eight-year-olds.
