SRIA bids farewell as Bolman, Sellers retire
"I have enjoyed theses 34 years and it is time to move on," Bolman said with apparent emotion. "plan to now spend a lot of time with family and friends." Sellers agreed with Bolman, adding that she was looking forward to her retirement, and was looking forward to relaxing and enjoying those around her. "I have only been here 13 years," Sellers said, "but I have been with the county for 33 years total, and I am really excited about taking a new path." When asked what their proudest moments were as they looked back, Bolman did not hesitate before answering "I have really enjoyed the folks out here, and I am confident I have made a positive impact on the island. The hurricanes have definitely been the biggest challenge and the first one I went through was Frederick in 1979. Of course, in the past years, Missy and I have both worked through Erin, Opal, Ivan and Dennis. Helping the island recover from the hurricanes is something I am proud of." SRIA General Manager Buck Lee echoed the ladies' sentiments, saying " these two have been a major part of the success of the Island Authority. The hurricanes were hell, but we got through and served the island. Both of these ladies will be sorely missed." Sharon Santurri has been hired as the new Administrative Manager of the Administrative and Leasing Department which insures that the Authority conducts business according to the rules regulations, ordinances and statues that have been adopted governing the Authority's roles, activities and responsibilities. It also plans and implements quality events and promotions on Pensacola Beach to enhance and increase business on the island. |
