MARY ELIZABETH FOLEY

Mary Elizabeth "Betsy" Foley passed away Friday, July 20. She was born in Drexel Hill, PA, and lived most of her life in the Philadelphia, PA area. She then lived in Pine Knoll Shores, NC until her move to Navarre in September, 2004.

Mrs. Foley is survived by her husband, David T. Foley, of Navarre. She is also survived by her children, Kevin R. Kiesel of Greensboro, NC, Jeffrey R. Kiesel of Shorewood, MN, Kathleen M. Kiesel of Milford, NJ, and Lynn A. Huber of Pensacola. She is survived by her 10 grandchildren, Meghan, Steven, Katherine and Peter Kiesel of Shorewood, MN, Julie, Edward and Robert Kiesel of Greensboro, NC, and Madeline, Matthew and Christopher Medve of Milford, NJ. Additionally, she is survived by five siblings, Constance Egan of South Bend, IN, Dr. William J. Kane of Chapel Hill, NC, Sharon Korody of Rockville, MD, Christopher Kane of Lilburn, GA. and Kathleen Moroze of Broomfield, CO.

Mrs. Foley graduated from Marywood College in 1957 with a B.S. in Home Economics and Education. She taught kindergarten in the Scranton, PA area prior to the raising of her family. She then obtained her certification by the American Montessori Society in the early 1970's. Mrs. Foley was co-directress of The Children's House of Lionville, a Montessori school located in Lionville, PA for 21 years. Upon her move to Pine Knoll Shores, NC Mrs. Foley volunteered at the Head Start Facility in Morehead City, NC. Upon her move to Navarre, she was active in the St. Sylvester's Golden Girls, and a member of The Emerald Coast Woman's Club.

A memorial service will be held at St. Sylvester's Catholic Church in Navarre, July 25, 2007 at 10:00 a.m.
