PLAN YOUR SUMMER
The name of the show is "Celebrating New Beginnings." That title takes in a lot of meanings for all three of the artists. One main reason is all three of are New artists in the gallery since the start of 2007. Blue Morning Gallery is located at 112 Palafox Place, just north of the Saenger Theatre. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Or you can visit the gallery online at www.bluemorninggallery. com. Free Friday Flicks returns to Pensacola Beach Fun Coast Promotions, Mediacom, Soft Rock 94.1 and 102.7-WXBM are bringing Free Friday Flicks back to Pensacola Beach to create a fun scenario for people living along the Gulf Coast. Free Friday Flicks will take place at The Gulfside Pavilion beside the Pensacola Beach Pier. The event will turn the Pavilion into a beachside drive in and show family movies for six consecutive Friday nights. The weekly show will begin when the sky is dark enough, approximately 8 pm., to show the movie on the 9 by 12 foot screen. Attendees can bring their own blankets, chairs, food and refreshments for the movie. All movies will be family features and rated at G or PG. In 2004 the event drew hundreds of families for a night of family time. It's free, it's fun and it's for the entire family. PJC photography exhibit tomorrow PJC presents a photography exhibit featuring the work of independent study who spent time in France. The exhibit is called Deux Semaines and runs Aug. 3-9 at PJC. There will be a gallery opening Aug. 3 at the Anna Lamar Switzer Center for the Visual Arts from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the PJC main campus, located at 1000 College Boulevard. The exhibit includes work from Melinda Brosky, Holly Collins, Christina Cooper, LaDonna Dewey, Melinda Dove, Wade Jeffrey, Andrew Marcus, James McCasland, Bonnie McKenzie, Brittney Merritt, Susan Myers, Barbara Reddoch, Greg Riegler, Leigh Rounsaville, Shelly Short, Lauren Smeraglia, Daniel Spivey, and Virginia Vanneman. Bushwacker Fest this weekend Capt'n Fun Beach Club presents The 21st Annual Bushwacker & MUSIC Festival - Aug. 3, 4 and 5. Enjoy live bands on two stages all weekend, a huge 5K run and of course... the famous adult milkshake concoction - The Bushwacker ! Live bands will perform all weekend, including: The Velcro Pygmies, The Molly Ringwalds, Dash Rip Rock, Rumor Mill Band, Glamour Kill, Good Foote Band, Mainstreet Band and Clark & Company. Celebrate a Pensacola Beach tradition with some of the best live bands in the country. The Capt'n Fun Bush wacker 5K will be held on the beach Saturday, August 4 at 7:30am. David Allen Coe to perform at Flounders Singer songwriter David Allen Coe is scheduled to perform at Flounders on Pensacola Beach Saturday, August 4. Details about performance time and tickets from Flounders. The Flounders complex has a limited capacity and this event will sell out quickly. Bobby Purify and Kyle Parker at Pensacola Beach Nashville meets Motown at Bands on the Beach from 7- 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 7 at the Gulfside Pavilion. During this weekly concert series, Bobby Purify will get the party started with his "can't sit still, get up out of your seat" R&B followed by Kyle Parker's good time southern rock and country.
