Just another day in paradise...
A waterline near Avenida 22 burst July 11 leaving hundreds of Emerald Coast Utilities Authorty (ECUA) customers on the beach without water for nearly half a day. According to ECUA and Santa Rosa Island officials, crews working to widen Via De Luna accidentally struck the pipe with heavy equipment while installing storm water grating for the road that morning. A precautionary boil water notice was issued by the ECUA, affecting residents living on Via de Luna from Avenida 18, east to the Gulf Islands National Seashore; on Panferio Drive, from the 1100 block eastward, also including Entrada 1 and Entrada 2. The pipe was repaired and water was flowing by that afternoon. The boil water notice was lifted Friday, July 13.
