JA needs alumni to volunteer

Junior Achievement of Northwest Florida (JA) is looking for JA Alumni to celebrate the 50th anniversary for the local branch. Interested parties are asked to contact Frances Yeo at 850-477-1420 or nwflja@bellsouth.net.
Junior Achievement of Northwest Florida is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the local organization in 2008. (Founded in 1958 by Theo Baars, Jr., Fred Gronemeyer and Vince Whibbs, Sr.) The non-profit is looking for former students who are willing to submit their JA story as part of our celebration.

You may have had a volunteer come to your elementary school class and teach you the basics about your community, you learned more about economics and ethics in high school or perhaps you made a product and ran your own company after school. Even if you have been a volunteer, JA is interested in hearing your story. Ideas they want to include are: the benefit you received from participating in JA, the benefits to all students from your perspective and the benefit to the school district and community, from your perspective. You also may want to explain why you think that businesses should make a financial contribution to JA, since this is not a government or United Way sponsored organization.

Include any stories, photographs, or memorabilia that might help explain how you have seen the JA program make an impact. Publication of material is not guaranteed. Please contact Frances Yeo, Executive Director of Junior Achievement of Northwest Florida, Inc. at (850)477- 1420, fax in your testimony to (850)477-2820, e-mail it to nwflja@bellsouth.net or mail it to the JA office at 1010 N 12th Avenue, Pensacola, Fla. 32501.
