County holds hearing for land use

      Once every seven years Florida counties are required by state law to hold a public hearing on their Comprehensive Plan and land use, which will include plans for future land use. That hearing for Santa Rosa County will be this month, on Thursday, July 26 at 9:30 a.m.

Study to guide future of public transport

      The wheels are rolling for the Santa Rosa County transit feasibility study. The study, funded by the Florida-Alabama Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) and approved by the local board of county commissioners, will ultimately guide the future of public transportation in Santa Rosa County.

Ready for a swim?
      Dedication ceremonies for the new YMCA in Navarre were held July 7, showing off the newly opened pool (left). The Navarre YMCA has been open to the public for a few months now, but the dedication ceremonies included a ribbon cutting by the Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce(lower left).

County to earn Gulf Power rebates from AC units
      Santa Rosa County Commissioners approved the purchase of more expensive air conditioners than originally ordered for the Navarre Tourist Center being built in Navarre Park. But by spending an additional $2,967 the county will actually earn a profit of $3,832 --thanks to Gulf Power rebates.
