Artel exhibit continues Artel Gallery's "Working Together: Collaborative Efforts" exhibit will run through August 10. This exhibit is sponsored by Harper and Pinzino Island Realty and by Varona's Catering. Artel is a not-for-profit educational gallery located at 505 South Adams Street near Seville Square and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information call the gallery at 850 432-3080. Navarre summer carnival July 28 The Artists & Artisan's Summer Carnival, being held on July 28 at the E H Pullum Senior Center in Navarre, will include entertainment by a number of musical artists. Featured among those are the duo of Carey Colvin and Granger Helvey, country rock musicians, singers and song writers. Carey recorded her Award Winning Debut album "The Distance Wall" in 1997. Since then she has recorded several other CD's and made numerous personal appearances across the country, both as a solo and in a duo format with her husband and musical partner, Granger Helvey. Originally from Washington D.C., the pair relocated to our warmer climes in 2003, and have appeared at a number of local events since. The Seniors Association is very excited to have them performing at the carnival. Celebrate new beginnings at Blue Morning Gallery Blue Morning Gallery is featuring the latest art work of Pauleene Smith a painter, Monique Webb, jeweler and Christine Chandler, photographer. The name of the show is "Celebrating New Beginnings," and will run July 22 through August 25 with an opening reception from 5 to 8 p.m. on July 27. Blue Morning Gallery is located at 112 Palafox Place, just north of the Saenger Theater. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Gallery night opens Pensacola business On July 20th come see the streets of downtown Pensacola fill with arts and culture for Midsummer Night's Eve. The Arts Council of NWFLpresents the second of three Gallery Nights for 2007. Walk the streets and explore the galleries, cultural organizations, businesses and shops showcasing a night of enlightening works of art, music and performance - all for free. The evening's activities begin at 5 pm and end at 9pm. Leave your car in the Jefferson St. or Baylen St. parking garages and stroll down the streets, or if you prefer to ride rather than walk, Gallery Night's participants and sponsors are providing free trolley service. Three air conditioned trolleys will be making stops directly in front of or very close to each participant between 6pm and 9pm. The numbers on the map indicate the Trolley route, which corresponds with each participant. Trolleys will begin at the corners of Palafox & Romana and Palafox & Garden, and will run the entire route delivering you to the arts and culture destinations of your choosing. Explore the world of artistic expression supplied by local, national, and even worldly artists. The event includes more than 30 different business including: A Means of Expression, Belmont Arts & Cultural Center, Artel Gallery, Blondies of Pensacola, Breaktime Espresso Café, Blue Morning Gallery, Bayfront Lofts, Clay Metal & Stone, Distinctive Kitchens, Dollarhide's Music Center, eat!, Edward Jones, Eranestine's Blues & Jazz Café, Global Grill, Gulf Coast Community Bank, Jack & Ron's Piano Bar, Jewler's Trade Shop, Pensacola Historic Museum, Pensacola Museum of Art and many more. |
