Plan ahead for Blue Angels Air Show

The Blues are coming back to Pensacola Beach, so prepare to have a successful viewing.

Bob West, Santa Rosa Island Authority's Director of Safety, gives this advice:

Plan for a full day. Casino parking lot will probably be full by 9 a.m. and trolleys will run from the Fort Pickens gate lot.

Have enough fuel. With only one road on and off the island, accidents can cause traffic backups, so have enough fuel to last through such a delay.

Park off the road. If your car blocks traffic, it will be towed.

Bring plenty of water to stay hydrated.

Drink responsibly. DUI checkpoints will be ample.

Bring sunscreen and shade.

No kites are allowed in the air show area.

Obey lifeguards and law enforcement officers.

Watch the weather. Be patient.
