Dollar General to close two GB stores

The standalone locations at 4376 Gulf Breeze Parkway and 3106 Gulf Breeze Parkway will close at the beginning of July, said Dollar General Senior Director of Corporate Communications Tawn Earnest.

"We are going to revitalize our existing store base," Earnest said, by closing up to 400 low potential stores.

Each store employs six to 10 workers who will be reassigned to other nearby stores, Earnest said.

The property housing each of the affected stores will be sold, Earnest said, if owned by the company. Otherwise, Dollar General will buy out of its leases.

Dollar General Stores are headquartered in Goodlettsville, Tenn.
