GBPD wins second in national pool

Chief Peter Paulding of the Gulf Breeze Police Department (GBPD) recently announced that the agency has been awarded second place in the nation in the 2006 National Law Enforcement Challenge and landed an appointment.

All winning agencies are recognized at an official awards breakfast during the conference week where they will receive their awards.

The Florida Police Chiefs Association (FPCA) is celebrating its 55th anniversary this year as well. Law Enforcement Administrators from throughout the State descended on Jacksonville, Fla. marking the Anniversary of the Florida Police Chiefs Association, established in 1952. The weeklong event, June 23 - 28, 2007 included Training for the Law Enforcement Professional as well as an Expo with over 130 Vendors displaying their latest in products and services for Police.

The week was capped off with the Annual Installation and Awards Banquet on Wednesday evening recognizing several individuals for their dedication to the Law Enforcement Community and the installation of the FPCA Board of Officers and Directors for 2007/2008.

Chief Paulding was selected as 3rd Vice President.
