GB 11s runners up at district

The GBSA U-11 All Star team scored four runs in the sixth inning, but fell a run short to Bill Bond 6-5 in the Dizzy Dean District 1 final at Cantonment.

Michael Neal hit a three run homer, his second in as many games. Taylor Baynes had a hit and scored twice, while Cooper Jones had a base hit. Brandon Aydelott and David Alverson both scored once.

Bill Bond 9, GBSA 4: Neal had two hits, including a three-run homer, while Baynes had two hits in a loss to Bill Bond.

Jones had a hit and a run scored, while Ben Davis scored once. Ben Diaz, Andy Creech, Conner Crooke and Aydelott all had one base hit.

GBSA 15, Perdido 0: Jones threw a nohitter and struck out four, while Davis had three hits and scored three times to lead Gulf Breeze over Perdido.

Baynes had two hits, including a double, and scored three times, while Neal had two hits, including a double, and scored twice.

Creech and Aydelott both had two hits and scored once, while Alverson scored twice. Neal, Diaz and Alverson all had one base hit.

GBSA 12, Bill Bond 11: Creech went 3- for-3, including a two-run homer, and scored three times, while Jones had three hits, including a double, as Gulf Breeze escaped a late inning jam to edge Bill Bond.

Davis scored three times, while Baynes had a single and scored twice. Crooke had a hit, while Michael Hawkins, Neal, Diaz and Alverson all scored once.

Bill Bond had the potential tying and winning runs on base when the game ended.

GBSA 20, Navarre 0: Jones and Baynes combined for nine strikeouts as Gulf Breeze opened the tournament with a win over Navarre.

Baynes went 4-for-4 with two doubles and scored four times, while Hawkins had three hits and scored three times.

Davis had two hits and scored three times, while Diaz had two hits and two runs scored. Alverson and Crooke both had a hit and scored twice.

Gulf Breeze finished fourth in the their division after their 12-11 loss to Tiger Point National. A recap of that game was in last week's issue of the Gulf Breeze News.

GBSA 20, Brent 2: William Welch homered twice and Brent Pardonner once as both went 4- for-4 in a win over Brent June 20.

Parker Baynes and Tyler Phelps both went 4-for-4 and scored once, while Cole Sheppard had three hits and scored once.

Reddon McLaurine and Brian Joyner both had two hits and scored once.

Navarre 17, GBSA 0: Sheppard, Phelps, McLaurine and Zack Kelly had the only hits for Gulf Breeze in a loss to Navarre.

GBSA 12, Tiger Point American 7: Welch hit a pair of three-run homers, while Sheppard had four hits and scored three times for Gulf Breeze in a win over TP American.

Tristan Covell went 3-for-3 and scored twice, while Pardonner had two hits and two runs and Phelps and Hayden Hill two hits and one run.

Evan Schultz and Chase McDonald both scored twice in the loss.

Perdido 14, Tiger Point American 4: Christian Westfall and Jonah Roby both doubled and scored once, while Chase McDonald and Schultz both singled and scored once for TPAmerican.

Colton Printiss had a double in the loss, while Bobby Murphy, Jacob Sivley and Kohl McConaghy all singled.

Tiger Point American 22, Cantonment 11: Keegan Luchsinger, Chase McDonald and Will Sawarynski all had three hits in an opening round win for TP American.

Sivley, Nate Veroneau, Westfall and Printiss all had two hits and two runs scored. Jonah Roby had two hits and a run scored, while Schultz was 2-for-4.

Cantonment 8, GBSA 0: Cole Brown, Mitchell Robbins and Troy Stringfellow had singles in a loss to Cantonment June 20. Gulf Breeze finished fourth in the tournament.

GBSA 17, Navarre 3: Robbins hit a three-run homer and scored twice to lead Gulf Breeze past Navarre.

Sam Covell and Jacob Kubik both scored four times in the win, while Zak Dobar scored twice. Covell also had three base hits, while Josh Argentine had two.

Bill Bond 11, GBSA 4: Nick Henry singled and scored twice, while Stringfellow singled and scored once in a loss to Bill Bond.

Garner Curington reached on a fielder's choice and scored a run, while Kubik, Robbins, Dobar and Argentine all had a base hit.

GBSA 11, Cantonment 8: Gulf Breeze led 9-0 after one inning, but had to hold off a furious charge from Cantonment to win.

Kubik, Robbins and Dobar all had two hits each, while Riley Nolan and Dobar both scored twice.

GBSA 15, Navarre 1: Kubik had two hits, including a three run homer, and scored twice to lead Gulf Breeze to an opening round win.

Peyton Hoover, Stringfellow, Henry and Covell all had two hits in the win, while Robbins, Nolan and Curington both scored twice.

Cantonment 11, Tiger Point 0: Nolan Blanchard had two hits, while Gray Aanestad and Alex McDonald both had one hit each in a loss to Cantonment.

Tiger Point 9, Myrtle Grove 3: Blake McDonald scored three times, while Jeffrey Tonti and Dylan Hanks both scored twice in a win over Myrtle Grove.

Alex McDonald had two hits, including a double, for Tiger Point.

Bill Bond 8, Tiger Point 3: Alex McDonald, Gant Player and Travis Parkins all scored in an opening round loss to Bill Bond.

Blanchard had a single, while Taylor Lindeman added an RBI single for Tiger Point.

Cantonment 13, Tiger Point 2: The Tigers ruined the shutout bid with two in the fourth inning of a loss to Cantonment.

Dylan Hartley and Cameron Fields both walked and scored for Tiger Point, while Devon Evans had two hits. Hartley and Zach Pearcy had the team's only other hits.

Bill Bond 14, Tiger Point 5: Devon Adams had two hits and scored once as Tiger Point lost its opener to Bill Bond.

Scotty McGaugh, Tommy Hegarty and Brian Stapleton all singled and scored once in the loss.
