GB 9s win second straight district
The win clinched a berth in the state tournament for the U9s, which will also be at Shoreline Park. It was also the second straight year the U9s have won a district title. Zane Gill allowed three hits over five innings, striking out six. He also had three hits, including a two-run single in a six-run fifth inning. Adam Colston had three hits, three RBIs and three runs scored. Two of his RBIs came on a two-run single in the fourth inning. Nick Liebig had two hits, a run scored and three RBIs. Julian Gordon had two RBIs and two runs scored, while Wade Niles scored twice and Bradley Proctor drove in two. Gulf Breeze 7, Perdido 0: Blake Fournie had two hits with an RBI and a run scored to lead Gulf Breeze over Perdido June 17. Sam Joyce singled and scored twice, while Proctor singled, drove in a run and scored a run. Niles, Corey Nolan and Liebig all scored once. Gulf Breeze 10, Bill Bond 4: Matthew deMahy had two hits and scored twice, while Joyce had two hits and one run scored in a win over Bill Bond June 16. Fournie tripled and scored two runs, while Niles scored two runs on a triple. Proctor had two hits, while Gordon scored twice. Gulf Breeze 9, Cantonment 1: Jace Amberson threw a three-hitter and struck out four to lead Gulf Breeze past Cantonment in their opener June 16. Gill and Colston had two hits and two RBIs, while Proctor, Niles and deMahy all scored twice. 8-under Tiger Point National, having to play back to back games, got to within three after four and a half innings before the Navarre Raiders scored four in the bottom of the fifth to beat the Tigers 12-5. TP National, who won four straight in the losers bracket after losing their opener, finished third in the 13-team tournament. Stephen Huggins went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and scored once, while James Parsons went 2-for-3 and scored twice. Dustin Rogers had an RBI in the loss, while Nico Ynostrosa and Konner Flynn both scored once. Tiger Point National 12, Gulf Breeze 11: Huggins' oneout single in the bottom of the sixth scored James Parsons as Tiger Point rallied from 5-0 and 11-9 deficits to win an elimination game with Gulf Breeze Thursday. Gulf Breeze took a 5-0 lead in the first inning, with Reddon McLaurine's three-run homer being the key hit. Brett Pardonner, who hit a three-run homer later in the game, and William Welch scored on the round tripper. Tiger Point used some clutch hitting to get back into the game, scoring four in the second and five in the third - all with two outs. Nicholas Myers hit a two-run single in the second inning after Rogers missed a two-run homer by a couple of feet. Ynostrosa and Jack Martin also drove in runs in the second inning. Huggins, Rogers, Andrew Dorsey, Ynostrosa and Martin all drove in runs in the third inning. Pardonner's three-run homer came in a four-run fourth inning, that ended with the game tied at 9. Tyler Phelps doubled to score Hayden Hill before Pardonner's round tripper scored both Parker Baynes and Phelps. Hill and Baynes both drove in runs in the fifth inning to make it 11-9. But Myers drove in his third and fourth runs of the game in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game at 11. Gulf Breeze had runners on first and second with one out in the top of the sixth, but didn't score. Tiger Point National 12, Myrtle Grove Green 8: Tiger Point scored five in the second and three in the third, but had to hold off a late charge from Myrtle Grove to stay alive in the losers bracket on June 20. Martin hit a two-run homer in the second inning, scoring Ynostrosa. The inning started with a solo homer by Trevor Robinson. Parsons added a solo homer in Tiger Point's three-run fourth inning. Ynostrosa and Brian Richards had three hits, while R.J. Philips, Huggins and Dorsey all had two hits each. Tiger Point National 23, Perdido 3: Huggins hit a tworun homer, while Ynostrosa scored four times in a lopsided win over Perdido June 17. Martin and Philips both scored three times, while Flynn, Richards, Parsons, Rogers and Dorsey all scored twice. Tiger Point National 14, Navarre Havoc 9: Rogers hit two three-run homers, while Philips had three hits and scored twice to lead Tiger Point past the Havoc June 17. Martin had two hits and three runs scored, while Ynostrosa and Flynn had two hits and two runs scored. Huggins added three hits in the win. Navarre Raiders 14, Tiger Point National 1: Ynostrosa singled and scored what would be TP National's lone run in the first inning June 16. Flynn, Philips and Huggins all had base hits in the loss.
