Johnnie Mae Nelson, 83, of Gulf Breeze, died Tuesday, June 19, 2007.

Nelson was born on July 21, 1923 in Pensacola. She was a homemaker and active in volunteer work throughout her husband's Military Career. She was an active member of the Pensacola Women's Club, Officer's Bridge Club, and worked at Gulf Breeze polls for many years. Nelson's favorite pastime, aside from bridge, was riding her bicycle around the neighborhood with her very close friend Sylvia Alexander, and many other friends. She was fond of and very close to her large family.

Her brother Buford Kelley preceded her in death.

Nelson is survived by her husband of 54 years Adrian J. Nelson; brothers Warren Kelley; Pat Kelley (Thelma); Bernie Kelley (Liz); sisters Bunny Gregg; Pearl Ropke; many nieces nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service was held Friday, June 22, at Harper- Morris Memorial Chapel. Burial followed at Bayview Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Covenant Hospice, 5041 N. 12th Avenue, Pensacola, Fla. 32504.
