JANICE STRINGFIELD

Janice Rusk Stringfield passed away on Monday, June 18, 2007 at home with her loving family around her. She had been living with her daughter and son-in-law in Wetumpka, Ala. since becoming ill.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty eight years, Mack P. Stringfield, Sr.

Also preceding her are her infant son, Jeffrey Keith Stringfield and her beloved grandson Nathan Michael Downey. Janice was very proud of her Texas heritage, having been born and raised in Athens Texas. She was also very proud of her status as a Daughter of The Republic of Texas through lineal descent of her great, great grandfather, Thomas Jefferson Rusk, who was the President of the Republic of Texas.

She is survived by her son, Mack P. Stringfield Jr., his wife Sherri and two grandsons Jason and Kyle Stringfield of Missouri City, Texas. She is also survived by her daughter, Stephanie Rusk Jefcoat, formerly of Gulf Breeze, her husband John and a granddaughter, Erin Elizabeth Taliaferro.

Other survivors include her sister, Beth Gathings of Euless, Texas and her sister in law Shirley Hooks of Gulf Breeze, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services were conducted Friday, June 22 at Rose Lawn Funeral Home in Gulf Breeze.
