SBA hosts live web chat today

Arthur Woods, Young Entrepreneur and Business Owner will answer questions in an online chat forum Thursday, June 28, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Arthur Woods is a college sophomore and a thriving young entrepreneur and the owner of Mission Three (M3) of Washington, D.C., which provides fresh orchard delivery services.

Woods will share the story of how at an early age he parlayed his passion for leadership, volunteerism and fundraising into a business based on the core philosophies of health, environment and community. Woods will also provide insight into the successes and challenges of young entrepreneurship. Chat participants will have the opportunity to learn more about what it takes to turn a business idea into a reality.

Woods will answer questions on teen entrepreneurship for one hour.

NBACOC presents Commerce & Coffee Friday

Wallace Moorehand will be the featured guest speaker at The Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce's monthly Commerce & Coffee Meeting Friday, June 29 at the Navarre Conference Center. Moorehand has extensive experience in motivational speaking, strategic planning, and leadership development and will enlighten attendees on "How to excel in business, in these challenging times."

Networking begins at 7 a.m. with the business program beginning at 7:30 a.m. This month the Chamber will also announce the first-ever "Small Business of the Month" recipient. Commerce & Coffee is a venue provided by the chamber to foster networking among members with a program based on business-related topics. The monthly event is open to all Chamber members, with an on-going invitation to all other business owners who want to network and preview the benefits of joining. Cost to participate is $6.

Nall earns CPRC credential

Jeff Nall, APR, CPRC, vice president of marketing communications for Council on Aging of West Florida, has earned the credential of Certified Public Relations Counselor (CPRC).

The CPRC credential, the highest distinction offered by the Florida Public Relations Association, is reserved for public relations practitioners with a minimum of 10 years of professional practice who have already earned the Accredited in Public Relations (APR) designation and have demonstrated the highest level of skill and professionalism as a senior counselor.

The certification exam consists of a written portion comprised of case studies to evaluate the candidate's knowledge and expertise in areas such as community relations, crisis management, employee relations, issues management and media relations as well as an oral presentation made to a panel of Certified evaluators.

Nall becomes one of 52 public relations practitioners in Florida, and the only public relations practitioner currently practicing in Northwest Florida, to earn the advanced level CPRC credential.

Moe's Southwest Grill opens

"Welcome to Moe's!" will soon be a familiar sound in Gulf Breeze as Moe's Southwest Grill opened its newest restaurant at 3733 Gulf Breeze Parkway on June 21.

A 2005 Inc. magazine top 25 company, Moe's Southwest Grill is a burrito-lover's paradise, serving fresh, made-toorder burritos and southwest fare with a healthy twist.

In conjunction with the opening, the Gulf Breeze Moe's will celebrate with Moe Mondays offering customers their choice of any burrito and a regular soft drink for $5 on Mondays.

In addition, a 20 percent discount will be given to customers responsible for public safety including police, fire, and emergency medical professionals who come into Moe's in their uniform.

Moe's Southwest Grill is the neighborhood burrito place offering fun, fresh Southwest flavors with a healthy twist. The Atlanta-based company was founded in December 2000 and currently has 500 franchise deals signed and more than 345 operating throughout 36 states.
