July 4, 2007

I don't think there is a more traditional holiday than July 4th. It is our time to celebrate who we are. We tend to be with family more on this day than all others, maybe with the exception of Christmas. We love who we are. We fought hard for our independence from the greatest army in the world at the time. We never went back to what we were, and we built the greatest nation on the earth.

Today we are being destroyed by different types of enemies today. Our enemies today don't want to rule over us; they want us dead. We have people coming over the borders every day that do not understand the system of taxes we have in this country and don't want to learn. Their numbers alone seek to sink us in the coming years. We now are going into our third generation of people that learned that they can vote themselves welfare, health insurance and income out of the public troughs. It is easier to have three children out of wedlock, put them on welfare and have an income for life, than it is to pay your way through school and work hard to make it.

Our internal enemies include people willing to pay the race card instead of using the time card. We have preachers without churches, leaders that lead only when it pays well and people that think we owe them a living for history that happened 200 years ago. We are rotting from within.

Our ancestors would not have understood our wars in Korea, Viet Nam, and Iraq. They knew how to win wars and rebuild countries. Oh, for a president again like Harry Truman, that was willing to do whatever it took to save American lives and to hell with the rest of the world. The rest of the world fell in line just fine and did well after they were totally defeated and humiliated; it is the way of wars. You fight them to win, not to negotiate afterwards. We fight our wars on CNN and wonder how the enemy knows so much about us. We find it hard to take pride in not being attacked on our on soil since our troops have been in Iraq, we would rather blast President Bush for not finding Osama Bin Laden.

I'm not trying to be a "doomsday" prophet, I'm just telling you how I feel. I don't see a lot of sincere patriotism in the world today. We are worried more about being Politically Correct than we are about being RIGHT! Christians and Jews are sitting down and doing nothing while Islam is taking over our cities. We don't talk about the Judeo-Christian ethic that built our country any longer because we are afraid that we will offend someone.

I believe in my country. I come from a family of warriors and patriots. I want to think that we are going to be OK, but as I age and have more time to contemplate I fear that I am changing my mind. God, help me to not do that. I want to wave my flag, watch the fireworks, hug my children, and take a moment to thank God for the troops that are overseas keeping harm away from our shores. I want to feel like my grandchildren have the same future I had, knowing that if they work hard and play by the rules that some pukehead that wants something for nothing won't take their goals away from them, or get in line in front of them for anything just because of the color of their skin, or immigration status. I want to. I want to very badly, but I can't help but feel frustration at the fact that I even have to think these thoughts or write these words.

God bless American AGAIN. Just thought you'd like to know....
