Fireworks and festivals mark America's 231st birthday

KABOOM! is not only the sound you'll hear overhead at Pensacola beach on July 4th, it is also the name of the entire project to bring a fireworks display back to Pensacola Beach. Kaboom is just one of the many celebrations planned for our area. See below for a full calendar of events:

Sunday, July 1

Patriotic Concert --The 2007 Independence Day Celebrations in Destin begin Sunday, July 1st with the Northwest Florida Philharmonic POPS Orchestra performing on the north lawn at City Hall. The concert will begins at 7:15 p.m. and will conclude with a small fireworks display. Bring your blankets and chairs, the event

is FREE to the public.

Firecracker 5K will be held on July 4th at Seville Quarter. The race will begin at 7:30 a.m. All participants will have a chance to meet Olympic gold medalist Justin Gatlin. All proceeds will benefit families with critically ill children who are served by the Ronald McDonald House of Northwest Florida. For more info contact 850-477-2273.

Bag of Donuts performs live at Freedom Fest 2007 at Capt'n Fun Beach Club on the Boardwalk on Pensacola Beach after the fireworks, approximately 9:30 p.m.

FREEDOM FEST 2007 will be July 4-8..five days of super star live entertainment - swimwear fashion shows and a huge Cajun Crawfish & CRAB Boil. Must be 21 years of age to attend.

There is no admission charge for the 4TH of July Bag of Donuts Concert.

Fireworks display, City of Destin, 9 p.m. over Destin East Pass.

Fourth of July Celebration at Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin, 5 to 10 p.m. Live music, face painting, street walkers. Free Monica performs from 5-6:30 p.m. Dread Clampitt performs from 7 to 10 p.m.

Fourth of July Celebration, Fort Walton Beach Landing, 4 to 10 p.m. Live entertainment, vendors and activities.

Riverfest, Milton, includes a bike show, car show, boat parade, Pirate attack, Chitty-bang parade, duck race, veterans salute, karaoke and fireworks display at dark.

KABOOM! Pensacola Beach Fireworks Extravaganza celebrates the 4th of July - starting at 9 p.m. over Santa Rosa Sound .

Sertoma's 4th of July Celebration, Seville Square, downtown Pensacola. Fireworks at dark.

Thursday, July 5

Sister Hazel performs at Freedom Fest 2007 at Capt'n Fun Beach Club on the Boardwalk on Pensacola Beach. Entrance is a $5 service charge.

Kaboom Oldies Concert, featuring "The Tams" from Atlanta, Ga., 8 p.m. in the Gulfside Pavilion

Friday, July 6

Velcro Pygmies performs free at Freedom Fest 2007 at Capt'n Fun Beach Club on the Boardwalk on Pensacola Beach. Entrance is a $5 service charge.

Kaboom Special Edition of Free Friday Flicks - a free family movie, Shark Tales, is scheduled to run at 8 p.m. in the Gulfside Pavilion.

Saturday, July 7
