Archer Allen's Kid of the Week

Allen
On July 18, Zachary Allen is turning 5. He has two basic desires in life. One is to be a Super Hero who can help good people against the bad guys and the other is to be famous. He feels he can fulfill the first desire but has had problems with the second. He came into my kitchen recently, sat on the bar stool with his arms crossed over his chest and scowled.

Naturally I asked, "What's wrong, Zach? He responded in an angry voice, "I'm not famous!" I said, "Well, son, few people are." He said, "Both Peyton and Grace (his older sisters) have had their picture in the paper but I haven't."

So, being the doting grandmother of four granddaughters and only one grandson, I am correcting this oversight.

Zach recently graduated from the United Methodist Church East Campus preschool program and feels he is now ready to face the bold new world of Kindergarten at Gulf Breeze Elementary School in the fall. I sure he won't have any problem with reading, writing and arithmetic because he has had a large vocabulary since the age of 2.

Recently he said "Mom, according to my calculations it will be a good day to swim."

Zach is a well rounded kid who loves swimming, drawing, building and playing computer games. He is an especially good host, adept at saying the blessing and making toasts on any occasion with mock Champagne. He's the special grandson that we adore and the youngest light of our lives. He's Zach Allen!

Kid of the Week will be a feature inset of the Gulf Breeze News Talk of the Town column. To nominate someone for this please email betty@gulfbreezenews. com with a short bio and a picture. You may leave the bio and a picture that will not be returned in my mail box at the Gulf Breeze News office located at 913 Gulf Breeze Parkway. ( I am beginning with my grandson to set the criteria.)
