Dolphins win three of five to open summer

The Gulf Breeze Dolphin baseball team won its first three games of the summer before dropping their last two.

Dolphins 4, PHS 0: Mark Waghalter struck out eight in four innings, while Brandon Scott had two hits and an RBI to lead the Dolphins over PHS.

Shane Dorlag singled and scored once, while T.J. Jordan doubled and scored once. Patrick Vance hit an RBI double, while Cody Warford hit an RBI single. Waghalter also scored a run, while Scott struck out the side in the seventh.

Dolphins 11, PHS 1: Dorlag and Kris Matsoukas both had two hits, while Greg Shows added a three-run double as the Dolphins completed a doubleheader sweep.

Dane Monnin and Justin Lindeman both scored twice, while Kyle Schnackenberg and Vance both scored once/ Corey Downs had a hit in the win.

Dolphins 3, Catholic 1: Jordan went 2- for-3 with a double and two RBIs to lead the Dolphins past Catholic June 6.

Vance hit an RBI single, while Scott doubled and scored once. Monnin and Waghalter both singled once, while Dorlag and Downs both scored once.

Catholic 9, Dolphins 6: The Crusaders broke a 6-6 tie with a threerun sixth inning to salvage a split. Matsoukas went 3-for-3 with an RBI and scored once, while Alex Ball had a single and two RBIs. Warford hit an RBI single and scored once, while Jordan and Vance both scored once. Shows added a single in the loss.

West Florida 8, Dolphins 3: The Jaguars scored two in the first and four in the fourth to beat the Dolphins in a 10-inning long game June 11.

Waghalter hit a two-run double, scoring Jordan and Kolton Hanke, while Scott hit an RBI single to score Downs.

Trey Pfeiffer and Shows both had two hits, while Dorlag had one hit.
