ISLANDER OF THE WEEK:
How long have you lived on the beach? My brother, Tan Summerlin, was a Wooly Booger, having owned our house on the beach since 1973. I spent many summers and holidays staying with him and learning about the beach and its wildlife (in its many Histed forms…..). I have lived there since his death in 2004. What do you do? I teach horseback riding lessons in Dressage and Eventing throughout the Southeast. What's your favorite hangout? I like to have my friends over. Soon we'll be able to hang out at the new house!! Pet Peeve? Being taken advantage of….. Which organizations are you involved with? Pensacola Beach Residents and Leaseholder's Association Do you have a goal for the island? Controlled growth and improved protection for our fragile barrier island. Better representation in government for residents of the island. Do you have a family? I have a wonderful husband, Jay; two stepchildren in college, Jarvis and LeGrand; and three cats, Max, Ivan, and Chloe. |
