Cigar, beer sales will benefit United Cerebral Palsy programs Grand Reserve Cigar and Smoke Shop will host Stogies and Sunsets on Sunday, July 1, from 5 to 8 pm to benefit United Cerebral Palsy of Northwest Florida. Fine cigars will be paired with Leinenkugal's Sunset Wheat Beer and food will be courtesy of Beulah Land Bar-B-Q. Cigar enthusiasts and those interested in sampling cigars can enjoy fine Fuente Cigars. Proceeds benefit United Cerebral Palsy of Northwest Florida, the premiere provider of services to infants, children, youth, and adults with developmental disabilities for over fifty years. If so, please join the Lupus Support Network at their monthly support group meeting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 23 at the Lupus Support Network Office located at 1108-C Airport Blvd., Pensacola, behind Barnes and Nobles. This meeting is free of charge and everyone is invited. You do not have to be a lupus patient to benefit from the support group meeting. This month, the group will conclude its discussion on surviving the heat wave. Store fights muscular disease From now until July 3, Shoe Carnival stores will be joining the Muscular Dystrophy Association's (MDA) battle against neuromuscular disease. Patrons of Shoe Carnival stores can assist MDA's lifesaving mission by purchasing and signing $1 and $5 mobiles. The initiative is part of MDA's Caring Makes Good Neighbors campaign, in which stores nationwide help the Association raise funds through special programs or events. In four years, Shoe Carnival raised more than $360,000 to support MDA's programs of worldwide research, lifeenhancing services and vital education. MDA funds nearly 400 research projects. |
