Thanks, but don't come back soon...
Weather Channel Meteorologist Stephanie Abrams recently visited Portofino on Pensacola Beach. While visiting the Gulf Coast, Abrams filmed several Hurricane Preparedness Public Service Announcements (PSA) and an exclusive interview that will air on local cable provider Mediacom June 12, 7 p.m. on channel 27 or channel 1 with On Demand. Abrams joined The Weather Channel in 2003 as an on-camera meteorologist and also does live reports from in the field, especially on the hurricane-prone Gulf Coast. Although Abrams claimed to have never been booed in the field like her more visible co-worker Jim Cantore, Abrams said people had asked her kindly "not to come back for a while." The TV personality said she understood people's apprehensive nature in her presence. Abrams, Cantore and other nationally-known meteorologists are typically associated with the arrival of tropical storms and hurricanes along the Gulf Coast. For more information visit www.mediacom.com.
