PSA Racquet Roundup concludes Friday

Registration is now being held for the 30th Annual Racquet Round-Up tennis clinic. The clinic runs through Friday at Shoreline Park in Gulf Breeze. Completed registration forms can be dropped off at their respective locations, or players can register on the morning of the clinics.

The clinics are open to boys and girls between the ages of 6-12 and are absolutely free of charge. Registration forms can be picked up at the Roger Scott Tennis Center, at the Gulf Breeze Recreation Center at Shoreline Park, or can be downloaded at www.pens acolasports.com. Enrollment will be limited to the first 300 applicants at each location.

The purpose and goal of the clinic is to promote the sport of tennis among the area youth. Sponsors, dedicated volunteers, and local tennis instructors allow the City of Pensacola, the City of Gulf Breeze, and the Pensacola Sports Association to present this event at no cost to each child. Special thanks to USTA Florida, Santino's, Gulf Power, Get-A-Grip, Wendy's, and First Gulf Bank for their generous contributions.

Russell Memorial Golf Tournament June 15 at The Moors

The seventh annual Bennett C. and Kathy F. Russell Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament is June 15 at 8 a.m. and at 1 p.m. at The Moors.

Cost is $400 for a fourperson team or $100 per person. Proceeds from the tournament go to college scholarships for Santa Rosa County students.

GBHS Soccer Camp June 19-22

The seventh annual Gulf Breeze Summer Soccer Camp is June 19-22 at Shoreline Park.

The four-day camp runs from 9 a.m.-noon and cost is $80 per camper. Girls soccer coach Eric Miles, as well as current and former GBHS players will be the camp instructors.

Campers who register by June 1 will receiver a free soccer ball and a t-shirt. The camp will be limited to the first 120 campers - the camp hosted 118 players last year.

The Southeastern Junior Golf Tour is announcing a new event during the summer season at Tiger Point Golf Club in Gulf Breeze, Florida. The event dates are June 18-19 and will take place on the East Course at Tiger Point. The entry period for this event ends Friday, May 25, but will possibly be extended into the following week.

Entry in this event is open to all junior golfers ages 12-18.

The Tiger Point Junior Classic will be ranked by the National Junior Golf Scoreboard and will carry an American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) exemption. The entry fee for the event in $165.

DeBolt Junior Golf Classic July 11-12

The Northwest Florida Daily News 28th Annual Marvin DeBolt Junior Golf Classic, presented by Peter Brown Construction, will be held Wednesday, July 11 and Thursday, July 12 at the Fort Walton Beach Golf Club. All proceeds from this Junior Golf Classic will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast.

This event will provide green fees, food, refreshments and trophies for the winners in all divisions. Cost is $80 for ages 12-18 and $60 for youth ages 8-11. Youth ages 12 and up will be playing 18 holes each day. The 8-11 division will be playing 9 holes each day.

Gulf Breeze Dolphin Volleyball Summer Camp July 23-26

Gulf Breeze Head Coach Waynn Sellers will be hosting the second annual Dolphin Volleyball Camp at Gulf Breeze High School, July 23- 26 for Grades 4-12.

The camp is directed by Sellers and all coaches have college playing and/or coaching experience. Early registration is recommended; register by Sat., June 23 to guarantee shirt size requested.

Times are as follows:

8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Fundamental Skills Session, Grades 4-8 will be for Beginner and Intermediate Skills. $60.00 fee includes t-shirt

12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Advanced Skills Session, Grades 8-12 requires approval of Coach Sellers; contact Coach Sellers directly at Boyzrule62955@yahoo.com or call 932-7682. Cost is $75, which includes a free t-shirt.

The goal of this camp is teach both the fundamentals of volleyball as well as advanced techniques for players interested in enhancing their personal skill level. Any player who registers the day of camp should come to the morning session Monday, July 23, for evaluation and placement.
