Zoo Enrichment Day caters to kids

Come spend a day enjoying picnics, bath time, and fishing with the animals at The Zoo- Northwest Florida!

Enrichment is offered daily for the animals, but throughout the year The Zoo wants visitors to enjoy animal behaviors along with us so we plan special Enrichment Days. On Saturday June 9, the community is invited to observe animals' enrichment activities with an educational narration by ZOO staff.

All children accompanied by a paying adult who bring an item from The ZOO's wish list will receive free Enrichment Day admission, Saturday June 9.

The ZOO's animal care staff has planned a wild day for both you and the animals.

Enrichment day includes: Lions and Tigers Enrichment, 9 a.m., Bear picnic, 10a.m., Piñata with African Wild Dogs, 11 a.m., Cakewalk, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Fishin' with the Otters, 1 p.m.; Browse enrichment for Giraffes, 2 p.m., Bath time with Indian Rhino, 3 p.m., Enrichment picture booth! 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., Toy workshop for the birds 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.,

The Zoo's wish list is simple: new items such as water hoses, hose nozzles, brooms, rakes, screw drivers, hammers, wrenches, shovels, zip ties, boxes of screws & nails, burlap, rope, and chain. These items help ZOO staff take care of the animals and their exhibits.

City tree giveaway date changes

The date for the City of Gulf Breeze Tree Giveaway has changed. The new date will be Saturday, June 30 from 7am to 1pm.
