Lani Elise Holston
1968-2007

Lani Elise Holston passed away May, 11 2007, in Louisville Kentucky. She was born on October 16, 1968 in Pensacola and grew up in Gulf Breeze.

Elise was a very vivacious, loving person always giving back to her friends, school, church, and communities. Elise was a senior class president of Gulf Breeze High School. She also was actively involved at Stephens College, Columbia, MO, as editor of the yearbook, and as Columbia's Youth Volunteer of the Year. She received a B.A. in Communication from Stephens College and a Master's in Management from Troy State University. Elise was a member of the Pensacola and Louisville Junior League, was a member of the GB United Methodist Church, was involved in numerous civic, charity, and political organizations.

She loved to travel the world especially to visit dear friends and family. Elise truly touched many lives with her guidance and wisdom. Her friendship was considered to be a blessing from God.

Survivors include her mother, Dari Cook; father, Hal Holston (Linda); brother, Chip Holston; sister-in-love, Nancy Holston; niece, Sophia Holston; nephew, Thomas McVoy; grandmothers, Marguerite Welch and Katherine Holston. Also many close relatives and precious friends who she dearly loved.

Elise was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Marshall Welch and Hal Holston.

A graveside service officiated by her cousin, Pastor Richard Lusk, was held in Birmingham, AL, May 14, at Elmwood Cemetery followed by a reception at her grandmother's, Marguerite Welch, home.

A Memorial service was held at Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2007. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the "Elise Holston Scholarship Fund" (Whitney Bank, 3134 Gulf Breeze, FL32563) to be awarded annually to a GBHS senior.
