GB News offers more exposure than meeting The reason I have chosen this forum for my comments, rather than speaking at the annual Town Hall Meeting at the City of Gulf Breeze, is that I believe I will have a larger audience. Excepting those who had reallife pressing engagements, other than watching Wheel of Fortune or Dancing with the Stars, shame on you. The future direction of our City is at stake. It is not a once-a-year proposition. Retiring here from Milwaukee, four years ago, I have little to complain about. It was a snow infested, crazy taxing state with a government that had taken themselves from elected, part-time officials to a full-time government industrial complex hungry for power with closed-door, phone-off-thehook, just tax them policy. What I see here is a part-time council and mayor, earning $1 per year, doing their best to further the city in which they live. I have had the opportunity to deal with the city on three levels… a volunteer with an expertise, a businessman and a resident. I have found that never the three shall meet. In all aspects of my dealings, I have been treated fairly and quickly… from the mayor and Buz all the way to the people who turn on the natural gas. It is easy to (gripe) when one stays in the background and does not get involved until it affects them. Everything that transpires at city hall affects you. Gulf Breeze is small enough where you can make a difference. To the gentleman who accused the city of illegal dealings during the special elections, if you know, not feel, you are right, take it to the next level. The candidate of my choice also lost. To the lady who walked away, in a huff, from the issue of the tennis courts, pursue your conviction regarding this issue…learn the budget and its constraints. I have found the city to have an open-door, open-phone, even, call-me-at-home attitude. I feel that the city council, Buz, David and all the way to the bottom do a fine job. If you disagree, I guess I will see you at the next meeting and your name on the next ballot. Dennis S.
