National Park Service offers family summer activities

Gulf Islands National Seashore Superintendent Jerry Eubanks announced that the National Seashore will be offering expanded ranger-led interpretive programs for the summer season.

Snorkeling at Perdido Key on Wednesdays, May 30 - August 15, at 10 a.m. Call 455- 5167 for reservations.

National Trails Day Sunset Walk at the entrance gate to Fort Pickens, June 2, 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Seeing Sea Life at Perdido Key, Tuesdays, May 29 - August 14 at 9 a.m.

Seeing Sea Life at Naval Live Oaks, Sundays, June 17 - August 13 at 2 p.m.

Pensacola in the Civil War at Naval Live Oaks, Thursdays, May 31, June 14, June 28, July 12, July 26, and August 9 at 10 a.m.

Apaches of Fort Pickens at Naval Live Oaks, Thursdays, June 7, June 21, July 5, July 19, August 2, & August 16 at 10 a.m.

Full Moon Walks at the entrance gate to Fort Pickens, Saturday, June 30 and Sunday, July 29, at 8 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 28, at 7:30 p.m.

Stargazing with the Escambia County Amateur Astronomer's Association at the entrance gate to Fort Pickens. Weather permitting on Fridays, June 15, July 13, & August 10, 8:30 - 11 p.m.

Evening Stargazing at Naval Live Oaks, an auditorium program followed by stargaze on Saturday, June 23, July 7, August 4, at 8 p.m.

Junior Ranger Day Camps for children ages 8-11. Call 916-3001 for reservations.

Sea Star Day Camps for children ages 3-5. Call 934- 2631 for reservations.

Fort Barrancas tours are offered daily at 2 p.m. and Advanced Redoubt Tours on Saturdays at 11 a.m.

Superintendent Eubanks encourages everyone to enjoy the National Seashore and join us for our ranger-led programs.
