Track teams hold annual banquet

The GBHS track program held its annual end of the season banquet May 2 in the cafeteria.

Both Tom Aldridge's girls and Greg Hundley's boys had 11 advance to regional competition with six of them - Tobie Bass, Dana Teschel, Tommy Gibble, Kurt Mason, Sean Seales and Will Thomas - making it to state.

Freshman Brynne Heatley, sophomore Emily Tryon, junior Lauren Musick and senior Chelsea Welsh were the female Scholar Athletes. Bass was the Most Valuable Field Athlete, while Tryon was the Most Valuable Track athlete. She also received special recognition for setting the school record in the two mile. Lauren Musick was the team's Dolphin Award winner.

Female athletes receiving their first track and field letter were Jacquie Fockler, Laura Fradenburg, Heatley, Tessa Diloreto, Elizabeth Dixon, Lindsey Bowman, Maggie Rodgers, Kerri Thomas, Briana Santiago, Madison Proctor, Bri Pate, Emmalyn Daniel and Karin Brown. Multi year letterwinners were Bass, Tryon, Noelle Robles, Jenny Holder, Musick, Ann Marie Chilton, Welsh and Dana Teschel.

Male athletes receiving their first track and field letter were Jordan Ball, Tyler Williams, Chase Landrum and Sam Grooms. Multi year letterwinners were David Sever, Anthony Hofius, Stewart Williams, Jeff White, Sean Thompson, Robin, Permenter, Andrew Eskridge, Duntz, Dustin Clements, Geoffrey Brill, Mason, Thomas, Gibble and Seales.
