Dolphins begin spring football practice, jamboree next week at Pace

Jason Thompson/Gulf Breeze News Coach Chris Nemith talks with his players during the first day in pads Friday.
The Gulf Breeze Dolphin football team opened a new era last week in preparation for next Tuesday's jamboree at Pace.

"Defensively, we're way ahead because we're doing a lot of new things offensively," coach Chris Nemith said.

This spring is the first without four-year starter Brad McGuire at quarterback. The Dolphins have at least five vying for the job, led by rising junior Kyle Schnackenberg.

"We know what he can do," Nemith said. "(The quarterbacks) are picking (the new offense) up real well."

The team is preparing for Tuesday's jamboree at Pace, which begins at 6. A intersquad scrimmage, mainly for the younger players, is scheduled for next Friday at 6:30.
