Devitts celebrate 60 years

The Devitts on their wedding day in 1947 and today.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. Devitt Jr. are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married at Temple Baptist Church, Memphis, Tenn. on May 16, 1947.

A celebration is being hosted by their children, Mrs. Sharon Barnes and Charles T. Devitt III. They have three grandsons: Devin Somerset, Shane Pass and Brian Parker.

Charles is a U.S. Navy veteran. He retired from the Memphis Light, Gas and Water Division. Helen was a Kindergarten Director and VISTA volunteer. They were active in the Coast Guard Auxiliary and Pensacola Flotilla.

They are planning a celebratory trip this summer.
