Gulf Breeze High's Student Council Members Board the S.S. Leadership

The Student Council Members from Gulf Breeze High School traveled to Palm Beach Central High School in Wellington, Florida for the 2007 Florida Association of Student Councils (FASC) State Convention on April 20-22. The theme of the convention was "Welcome Aboard the Leader-Ship!"

Throughout the weekend, the council members exposed themselves to a variety of activities and ideas that will help improve their high school campus. The convention's motivational speakers included Jonathan Sprinkles, 2006 College Speaker of the Year, Bob Tryanski, and Phil Gugliuzza.

Intriguing workshops were held on a variety of issues including School Spirit, Fundraising, and Parliamentary Procedure. The main purpose of attending the FASC state conference was to hold a statewide Resolutions Meeting where resolutions passes at the district level were read, discussed, and voted on and also to compete in the Medallion Council Project Book Competition and Individual Project Competition.

This year, the Gulf Breeze High School Council earned a gold medal for their efforts in creating the Project Book. The students also attended the 2007 Stanford U.S. Open Championship Polo Match to experience the community of Wellington and get to know fellow council members from throughout the state better.
