Get a Clue @ Your Santa Rosa County Library
Registration Begins May 7 for Children's Summer Reading Program

Mysteries await you at your local Santa Rosa County Library this summer where children will find clues, solve mysteries and puzzles, see special performers, and enjoy other activities during the library's summer reading program, Get a Clue @ Your Library. The 2007 "Get a Clue" program is open to all children through 5th grade.

Get a Clue @ Your Library will encourage children to read at least 15 minutes each day during the summer to help them discover the pleasure of reading mysteries and intrigue and to retain the reading skills achieved during the prior school year. The library will provide an interesting collection of "mysterious" reading materials for participants. Incentives and contest prizes will be awarded at various times during the summer. This program will run June 4 - July 13; however, participants can begin reading and recording their efforts on May 28.

Several evening family activities are planned in May to promote the upcoming program and mystery theme, including a Family Movie Night based on the Newbery Medal Winner Book the Westing Game by Ellen Raskin; Family Game Night featuring Clue or Charades; and a Library Scavenger Hunt for all ages. In addition, a kickoff event for the summer programs is planned at each library on Saturday, June 2 and will include hot dogs and refreshments, a visit by McGruff the Crime Dog, children's activities, giveaways, and more!
