Four GBHS boys, two girls state bound in track

Jason Thompson/Gulf Breeze News Will Thomas, Sean Seales, Tommy Gibble and Kurt Mason set a school record in the 4x800 meter relay at regionals.

The quartet of Will Thomas, Sean Seales, Tommy Gibble and Kurt Mason qualified for Saturday's state meet in Winter Park, setting a new school record in the process.

The four ran the 4x800 meter relay in 8:20.68 at Thursday's Region 1-2A meet in Jacksonville, good for third place. They'll be joined at state by Tobie Bass (shot put) and Dana Teschel (high jump).

Bass was second in the shot put with a throw of 35 feet, 4.25 inches, while Teschel needed five 'jump offs' with Episcopal's Katherine Tucker to take the fourth and final spot in the high jump with a leap of five feet.
