Mud Bugs!
Crawfish Festival is this weekend at Bamboo Willie's

They are probably the most unusual thing you'll ever put in your mouth ... tiny red crustaceans with delicate lobster-like meat. Beginning Friday, you can eat your weight in the little critters at Bamboo Willie's Crawfish Festival.

Besides the mud bugs, there will be live entertainment by LMR2, Ba'nana Republic, One Jamaican Band, Knee Deep and Tout les Soirs.

The festival starts 3 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. Saturday and 12 noon on Sunday. A kids petting zoo is planned as well as a special appearance by Scoop, the mascot of the Pensacola Pelicans. Boardwalk merchants will have a sidewalk sale to mark the occasion, too.

Bamboo Willie's is located in the Portofino Beach Boardwalk, 400 Quietwater Beach Rd. For details, call 916-9888.
