St. Francis' Midsummer Night Party is June 9
BY BETTY ARCHER ALLEN Gulf Breeze News betty@gulfbreezenews.com

Betty Archer Allen/Gulf Breeze News Frieda Palmer will bake cookies for the Midsummer Night Party June 9 at St. Francis of Assisi.
The Mid Summer Night Party scheduled for June 9 at St. Francis of Assisi. The event features Wine and Cheese and Silent Auction Party and promises to be a success.

Last year there was standing room only but this year more of the Church facility will be utilized plus there will be a tent set up on the Church grounds. There will be plenty of food and beverage and a lot if serious 'Silent Auction' shopping.

The Silent Auction features travel packages, original art, sailing and fishing adventures, local restaurant gift certificates, and more! The auction runs from 6 to 8 p.m.; winners are announced immediately following the close of the sale. There will be drawings for chances to win door prizes or win an entire table of fabulous items. One especially fun event will be the Wine Toss. If you ring that vintage wine you'll go home with a happy smile.

Freida Palmer, one of last years' event coordinators, can be found using her culinary talents in her own kitchen on any given day. She is leading the Cookie Baking Team for the St Francis' Mid-Summer Night Party.

Freida and her husband, Roger Palmer, came to the Gulf Breeze area in 2000 and quickly became an integral part of St. Francis of Assisi Church. Freida was a civilian Budget Officer for the United States Air Force. She hails from Perry, Georgia where she was a charter member of the Episcopal Church. She is retired now but works diligent for her many causes. She just joined the many volunteers for Interfaith Ministries. Come to the party and sample the cookies that Frieda and her team will provide.

All the money earned from this event goes to local charities. Past beneficiaries have been Santa Rosa Kids House, Hospice, Wilmer Hall, Good Samaritan Clinic, Interfaith Ministries, and many more. General Admission
