Arts Garden Party focuses on local homes and gardens

The GFWC Milton Woman's Club, Inc. will host the fifth in their Women In The Arts series, Garden Party, on Saturday, April 14 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Milton Clubhouse, 6863 Oak Street in downtown Milton, with art which focuses on the home and garden by local women.

Booths will be set up on the grounds and inside the Clubhouse, which is located one block south of Highway 90/Caroline Street and will feature handmade creations of chimes, rugs, soaps, birdhouses, soy candles, bird feeders, yard art, pottery and much more. Those women participating include: JoAnne Byrd; Angela Channell; Jennifer Johnston; Barbara Meloy; Pam Mitchell; Mary Rentz; Brenda Stokes; and Pam Thompson.

Woman's Club members will be offering beverages, baked goods and cookbooks for sale inside the Clubhouse. Plan now to stop by and pick up something special for those on your Mother's Day gift list. Pensacola Beach Woman's Club

The Pensacola Beach Woman's Club is hosting its annual Game Day and Card Party on Thursday, April 26, 2007 from 10 AM-3 PM at Our Lady of The Assumption, Pensacola Beach. Games include bridge, bunco, mah jongg, rummy, hearts, dominoes, scrabble and poker. This is the only fund raiser PBWC has each year. In past years, the funds raised have been donated to organizations that provide services to Pensacola Beach, Gulf Breeze and Pensacola. Last year the PBWC donated over $3,000.00 to the Santa Rosa Kids House, Pensacola Beach Charter School, and the PBWC purchased binoculars for the Sheriff's Sub-Station to increase safety surveillance. Tickets for the event are $20.00 which includes a lunch that will be served from 12-1. There will be a silent auction, door prizes, and raffle. Santa Rosa Shores Women's Club

Barbara Oliver and Jane Parker hosted the SRWC Tea.
The Santa Rosa Shores Women's Club met April 3, 2007 at 7:00 at the home of Tina Tomes, 1065 Harbor Lane. Gulf Breeze. They were entertained by Stephanie Bova, a junior at Gulf Breeze High School. She played excellent piano renditions of "Dante Sonata" by Franz Liszt and "O Danny Boy" arranged by Joseph Martin. Stephanie is a very talented young lady who performed with poise and grace.

The Club's next meeting will be Tuesday, May 1 at the home of Fran Fletcher, 3522 Hillside. The members will be entertained by Cooking Night with Chef Willie. Call Lou Jones at 932-9272 for more information.

Navarre Garden Club

The Navarre Garden Club will meet Thursday, May 3 for an Installation Luncheon at Soundside at Hurlburt Field. They will be announcing the results of the vote on the whether or not to build a Garden Center in Navarre similar to the Pensacola Garden Club on Ninth Avenue. So there may be "ground breaking" decisions at that meeting. Emerald Coast Bead Society

The Emerald Coast Bead Society will have their annual spring show Saturday, May 5th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Wright Place, 80 East Wright Street, Pensacola.

Join them at their new location to view exciting new works from their talented members.

They're getting bigger and better so they've moved to a larger place. The show will feature featuring polymer, lampwork and beaded jewelry; bead embroidery; batik clothing and artwork; macramé items; lamp work, dichroic and glass beads; artwork; decorated gourds; soft sculpture creations and much more, handmade by our members. Beads and findings too! Come enjoy the wonderful, unique, one-of-a-kind creations made by their members. Rudy Pendleton will provide live music from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
