AAU boys basketball tryouts next week

Tryouts will be held for AAU Boys Basketball for all boys interested in playing competitive basketball and representing Gulf Breeze for the upcoming league and travel season.

Tryouts will be held at the GBHS Gym Saturday April 14 from 4-5:30 p.m. for ages 11-12 year old, and 5:30- 7:00 p.m. for ages 13-14 year old.

Tryouts will continue on Sunday from 4-6 at the Gulf Breeze Rec Center. Bring a copy of your birth certificate to the tryouts.

Several local area businesses and clubs are holding golf tournaments in the coming months. Here are some of them.

The Gulf Breeze High Quarterback Club will hold its annual Golf Tournament April 19 at The Moors.

Cost is $80 per person, which includes green fees, cart, range balls and a box lunch from Panera Bread before the tournament. Check in starts at noon with a 1 p.m. shotgun start.

Alongest drive, closest to the pin and a hole in one contest will also be held. Sponsorships are also available, ranging in prize from $320 to $500. Tee signs are also available for $125.

The Navarre Area Board of Realtors will hold its annual Community Golf Tournament April 20 at the Club at Hidden Creek.

Cost is $80 per player with a noon shotgun start. Lunch will be provided at 11 a.m., followed by a 'Blind Tee Shot' competition before the tournament starts. Cost for that competition is $5. Sponsorships are also available ranging in price from $100 to $750.
