Bayside U11 girls fall in GCI semifinals

The U11 Bayside girls soccer team lost in the semifinals of the recent Gulf Coast Invitational, 2-1 to the Navarre Thunder.

Katie McComber scored off a pass from Brie Rogers before the Thunder scored the gamewinner moments before the second half water break.

Rogers and Hannah Gullickson both scored twice in Bayside's 5-1 win over the Koikonia (Tenn.) Purple Rain. Frances Harpole also scored in the win.

Rogers' breakaway goal with about 10 minutes left lifted Bayside over the Thunder 2-1 in a pool play match. McComber also scored for Bayside.

The Bayside U10 boys team got goals from Colton Prentiss and Brian Richards in a 4-2 loss to the PFC Admirals before losing to Gulf Coast United (7-0) and the Navarre Pythons (10-0).

Brendan Miles had both assists against the Admirals.

The U11 Bayside team won one and lost three in pool play, scoring goals in three of the four matches.

Hunter Sperry and Joseph Rojas scored in a 5-2 loss to PFC, a match that was tied 2-2 at the half. Josh Ceravolo had an assist.

Bayside lost 7-0 to the Dothan Alliance before beat the Destin Wave 6-0. Sperry and Ceravolo both scored twice, as did Cesar Suarez.

Suarez also scored in a 3-1 loss to Bay United.

The Bayside U13 team lost to Tallahassee United 4-0, to Bay United 7-0 and to the Navarre Rattlers 4-0.
