Local teams take second in pools at Lizardfest

Two teams in the Pensacola Beach Volleyball Club took second place in their respective consolation brackets at the annual Lizardfest Tournament, sponsored by Volleyball Pensacola last weekend.

The U14 team, coached by former Lady Dolphin standout Chelsey Adams, took second in their pool, as did the U16 team, coached by Regina Scott.

The PBVC teams didn't fare as well as pool play, with only the U15 team winning a match on Saturday. The U15s beat Volleyball Pensacola U15s 25- 22, 23-25, 19-17 Saturday morning at UWF.

The tournament, which brought in more than 135 teams from seven states, was played at UWF, Pace and Milton High Schools, the Rec Center in Gulf Breeze, Malcolm Yonge and the Fricker Center. All PBVC tournaments results were unavailable at press time.
