U13 Pelicans, U14 Gulf Breeze team take second at GBSA Spring Fling The Pensacola Pelicans, a U- 13 Tiger Point-based team, and the 14 under GBSA All Stars both took second at the GBSA Spring Fling March 4. The Pelicans lost to Lost Key 6-5, while Gulf Breeze lost to the Pensacola Trojans 12-2. Jack Sargent had two hits and scored one for Gulf Breeze, while Trevor Challenor and Colin Cahill both had one hit. Michael Mann added an RBI triple in the loss. Gulf Breeze lost its opening game 4-1 to Navarre. Colin Brown's single scored Cahill for the team's lone run. Brown and Tyler Wright had two hits in the loss. Sargent and Taylor Webb singled and scored, while Challenor and Trip Rowe walked and scored. Cahill had two hits, while Jase Brown had a double. Justin Ratte's two-run triple helped Gulf Breeze get past the Perdido Pelicans 4-0 Sunday. Brandon Sorenson had two hits, while Webb, Jase Brown and Colin Brown all had one hit each. Lost Key scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth to beat the Pelicans in the title game. Andrew Jurnovoy had two hits and scored twice, while Taylor Busbee had a hit and two runs scored. Cameron Davies, Blake Meredeth and Jake Norris all had one hit, while Dane Locklin scored once. Busbee had three hits, while Meredeth and Matt Kolokouris both had two hits in an 11-1 win over the South Alabama Hurricanes. Locklin tripled and scored twice. A furious rally fell two runs short in the Pelicans' 9-7 loss to Lost Key. Meredeth had two hits and scored twice, while Busbee had two hits and scored once. Davies and Locklin both had a hit and a run scored., while Jurnovoy, Hunter Bradshaw, Josh Middleton and Ryan Martin all had one hits each.
