Golf tournaments abound in area

Several local area businesses and clubs are holding golf tournaments in the coming months. Here are some of them.

The Gulf Breeze High Quarterback Club will hold its annual Golf Tournament April 19 at The Moors.

Cost is $80 per person, which includes green fees, cart, range balls and a box lunch from Panera Bread before the tournament. Check in starts at noon with a 1 p.m. shotgun start.

A longest drive, closest to the pin and a hole in one contest will also be held. Sponsorships are also available, ranging in prise from $320 to $500. Tee signs are also available for $125.

The Navarre Area Board of Realtors will hold its annual Community Golf Tournament April 20 at the Club at Hidden Creek.

Cost is $80 per player with a noon shotgun start. Lunch will be provided at 11 a.m., followed by a 'Blind Tee Shot' competition before the tournament starts. Cost for that competition is $5. Sponsorships are also available ranging in price from $100 to $750.

The Lupus Support Network is holding its second annual Charity Golf Tournament April 26 at the Moors.

Door prizes include vacation packages from the Sandestin Golf and Resort; Imperial Palace, Beau Rivage, Pelican Beach and Hilton Garden Inn plus many other prizes.

All funds received will help us continue to provide support, assistance and education to lupus patients and their families.

The 28th Annual Northwest Florida Daily News Junior Golf Classic will be held on July 11-12. at the Fort Walton Beach Golf Club. All proceeds from this Junior Golf Classic will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast.

This event will provide green fees, food, refreshments and trophies for the winners in all divisions. Cost is $80 for ages 12- 18 and $60 for youth ages 8-11.

The Pensacola Cordova Rotary Club will be conducting a fundraiser for local literacy programs in the Pensacola area.

Members will be selling a chance to win an all expense paid trip for two to the Master's Golf Tournament in Augusta, Georgia this April; 250 tickets will be sold at $100 each.
