Gulf Breeze Relay reaches out for teams
"We are very excited about this year's Relay for Life event. We are well on our way with teams, but could always use more," said Event Chair JoAnn Rose. This year's Gulf Breeze Relay theme is "Lights, Camera, Take Action for a Cure." Relay will be at the Gulf Breeze High School football stadium, and teams are encouraged to participate by donning movie or television style themes. The monetary goal for this year's event is $ 1 1 8 , 0 0 0 . Because of the last year's outs t a n d i n g support of the Gulf B r e e z e community, Gulf Breeze Relay raised over $112,000 with an original goal of only $60,000. Current teams include Pensacola Beach Elks; Gulf Breeze High School Family; #1 Dream Team; City of Gulf Breeze; GBHS Key Club; The Cadets, St Francis of Assisi; Team Wa l - M a r t ; First Rehab; Cruisin For The Cure; A - P l u s M a r i n e ; S a n t a R o s a C o u n t y S h e r i f f ' s Office; Team Z; Woodlawn Beach Middle School; St. Ann Catholic Church; Gulf Breeze Elementary School; The Improper Dozen; Big Sisters/Big Brothers; Golfing Geezers; The Berkeley Believers; Gulf Breeze Chamber; The Super Stars; Gulf Breeze News and Splash! Magazine; Emerald Coast GT Club; Gulf Breeze Emerging Leaders; The Club Family Sports Complex and Fishin' Chix.The next Team Captain's meeting is schedule for March 27, 2007 at 6:45 p.m. at the Gulf Breeze Hospital Resource Center, located behind the cafeteria.
