Sea grass Awareness Event is March 31 at Shoreline Park

The (EECT) Environmental Education Coordination Team with Cat Country 98.7 will host the 7th annual Sea grass Awareness Celebration in honor of Sea grass Awareness Month. This event features hands-on family orientated, environmental education. Join the Country Cat in an Easter egg hunt at 10:15 am, see the aquatic life in the touch tanks, "eat a sea grass bed," visit with Ms. Slithers snakes, go seining, fish, play games, participate in arts and crafts, go kayaking, have a safety inspection on your boat and more!

The event is set for 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.on Saturday, March 31 at Shoreline Park South, 1070 Shoreline Drive in Gulf Breeze.

Bring your bathing suits, beach towels, sunscreen, water shoes, hats, lawn chairs and join us for a fun filled day on the beach!

Participating organizations include: The Environmental Education Coordination Team, Gulf Islands National Seashore, University of Florida IFAS: Florida Sea Grant Extension, Florida Master Naturalists, Windstorm Damage Mitigation & Energy, Florida Yards and Neighborhoods; Florida Department of Environmental Protection: Florida Park Police, Office of Coastal and Aquatic Managed Areas, Greenways and Trails, Ecosystem Restoration; Resource Rangers, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Escambia County- Neighborhood & Environmental Services Department, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and more!
