Dolphins edge Pine Forest, 3-1

Brandon Scott's solo homer in the bottom of the first made it 1-0. Brunty, who went 2-for-4, drove in Tyler Schumacher and Hanke to make it 4-0. Hanke, who scored twice, singled to score Ashton Vance. Brunty's double in the fourth inning scored Schumacher and Hanke to make it 6-0. A single and a triple with two outs spoiled the shutout bid for the Dolphins, who got five of its six runs from their seven through nine spots in the batting order. Dolphin JV 7, Pine Forest 1 Cody Warford threw a complete-game one-hitter, while striking out 11, to lead Gulf Breeze to a win Friday. Warford and Corey Downs both went 3-for-4, while Patrick Vance and Caleb Brown both had two hits each. Dolphin JV 10, Washington 2 Bo Dobson struck out eight and allowed only five hits as Gulf Breeze rallied from two runs down to win Feb. 27. Kyle Schnackenberg went 3- for-4 with a double and scored once, while Vance went 2-for-3 and scored once. Tyler Boylan and Daniel Shull both scored twice. Dolphin ninth grade 14-13, Navarre 2-4 Thomas Dorsey and Tyler McGee both pitched five strong innings to lead the Dolphins to a doubleheader sweep Friday in Navarre. Dorsey struck out 10 and allowed only two hits. Boylan, Robyn Hoffpauir, Stephen Robbins and Isaac Davis all had two hits each, while McGee, Dorsey and Colby Brown all scored twice. In game two, McGee struck out four and allowed four hits. McGee, along with Alec Purser, Adam Gary, Ben Lively and Hoffpauir all had two hits. Austin Whidby scored twice in the win. Dolphin ninth grade 6, PHS JV 4 Gulf Breeze rallied from deficits of 2-0 and 3-2 to beat the Tigers Monday in Gulf Breeze. McGee and Boylan both had two hits, while Lively struck out seven in five innings. The Dolphins play another seed game Friday at Milton in 6:30. The ninth grade and JV squads host Milton Friday at 4 and 6:30 p.m. Gulf Breeze will host Alabama Christian out of Montgomery in a Saturday doubleheader, starting at 11 a.m. The Dolphins will host Jay at 11 a.m. Tuesday. |
