The band that played on and on and on
Above: The Santa Rosa All-County Band recently held its recital at Milton High School's auditorium. The band included 57 students from the Gulf Breeze Middle School Symphonic Band - a new school record for the number of students selected for the All-County Band.

Right: Brandon Fish, shown with GBMS Band Director Susan Smithey, recently went to Tampa to perform in the All-State Band, which is made up of students from all parts of the state.

Last month, members of the GBMS Band students performed solos, duets, trios, quartets and quintets on for a judge. They had 65 solos and 35 ensembles entered in the Festival.

The Symphonic Band has begun practicing for District Festival, which is being held on March 22 at Fort Walton Beach High School. There will a full band run-through (a mock performance with judges) on March 8 from 2:30 to 5:00 in the Gulf Breeze High School band room. The band is are hoping to earn straight Superior ratings for the 16th consecutive year.
