Team Brown repeats as GBSA champs

With two weeks still left in the GBSA basketball season, one team has already been crowned league champions.
Team Brown, in the 13-14 year old boys division, clinched the title for the second straight year with their win over Challenor.
The following is a recap of Week 8:
7-8 Coeds
Grace 19, Hawkins 11
Hans Schroeder had nine points for Grace; Zach Pohlman had four points, while Bo Fabbro and Marissa Lawrence both had three points.
Megan Hawkins and Eric Czeck both had four points for Hawkins, while Andrew Houser had two points, and Marley Taylor had one point.
Thompson 23, Larsen 12
Cole Sheppard had 14 points for Thompson and Taylor Kehoe had nine points.
Nicholas Myers had 10 points for Larsen and Malcolm Landrieu had two points.
Hoskins 4, Barnes 0
Owen Hayes and Daven Patel both had two points for Hoskins.
Taylor 15, Stringfellow 4
Jordan Taylor had six points for Taylor, Maddie Grace McCurdy had four points, Jake Molina and Jacob Pettijohn each had two points, and Alec Grimes had one point.
Avery Curington and Brian Joyner both had two points for Stringfellow.
9-10 Girls
Clark 15, Rockett 14
Savannah Nixon had five points for Clark, while Brie Perdue and Alexandria Karcher both had four points, and Paige Van Tassel had two points.
Bailey Trzcinski had six points for Rockett; Emily Radcliffe had four points, while both Cate Hodges and Aspen Lee had two points.
Ferrera 14, Crowdis 4
Katrina Espenscheid, Christina Ferrara, and Laura Riney each had four points for Ferrera, and Emily Branco had two points.
Savannah Crowdis had two points for Crowdis, while Jesse Droogsma and Selena Lillo each had one point.
11-14 Girls
Brown 18,Welsh 17
Michelle Brown had 13 points for Brown, while both Emily Lively and Elena Schensted had two points, and Ashley Scott had one point.
Emma Kimsal had 14 points for Welsh, while Sarah Tolan had two points and Kerrie Shaw had one point.
Bryant 17, Hawthorne 14
Richelle Czeck had eight points for Bryant, while Jamie Droogsma had four points, Katie Bowyer and Peyton Blocker each had two points, and Katie Munch had one point.
Lindsey Horneio had eight points for Hawthorne, while Katie Aldridge had three points, Kathryn Miller had two points, and Rebecca Violette had one point.
9-10 Boys
Crowdis 16, Newell 12
Brian Garbell and Blake Fourine both had seven points for Crowdis and Jett Crowdis had two points.
Zach Argentine had six points for Newell, while Joshua Argentine had three points, Duncan Niven had two points, and Joe Lennon had one point.
Aydelott 25, Gill 13
Jack Joyner had 10 points for Aydelott, while Brandon Aydelott had eight points, Josh Martin had four points, Bradley Proctor had three points, and Hunter Davis had two points.
Matthew DeMahy had seven points for Gill and Peyton Hoover had six points.
Jarvis 26, Stringfellow 10
Cole Brown had 12 points for Jarvis, Austin Dewees and Kale Jarvis both had six points, and Danny Gill had two points.
Mac Pewitt had four points for Stringfellow, while Julian Gordon, Nicholas Valletto, and Garner Curington each had two points.
Flake 22, Battel 21
Auston Fillinger had 12 points for Flake, while Michael Hawkins had six, Evan Kelsch had four, and William Musmansky had two points.
Andy Creech had nine points for Battel, while Ben Barrow and Collin Hightower both had two points, and both Owen Battel and Thomas Flynn both had one point.
11-12 Boys
Castleberry 37, Hawthorne 15
Allen Wang had 18 points for Castleberry, Reno Routh had 10 points, Taylor Castleberry had five points, Patrick Roane had three points, and Eric Larson had one point.
Matthew Hawthorne had six points for Hawthorne, while Robbie McLin and Blaec Bejarano each had three points, John Mark Carbough had two points, and Nick Dugger had one point.
Fry 35, Newell 32
Joel Fry had 12 points for Fry and Nick Bookout had seven points, while Kyle Folland had six points, Randy Halpin had four points, and Shane Halpin, Giorgio Houser, and Alex Trotter each had four points.
Austin Droogsma had 12 points for Newell, while Nicholas Kessler had 10 points, Carson Sharp had eight points, and Michael DeMahy had two points.
Maddox 49, Dekozan 37
Jonathan Burkett had 19 points for Burkett, while Luke Cunningham had 14 points, Jake Norris had 13 points, and Garrett Glassman had two points.
Mitchell Dekozan and Landon Cagle both had 17 points for Dekozan and Chad Wise had two points.
Chavez 26, Battel 17
Josh Monserrate had 13 points for Chavez, Alec Chavis had six points, Marco Pena had five points, and Reid Torgerson had two points.
Xan Sarra had 11 points for Battel, while Griffin Battel, Andrew Flynn, and Sam Hoskins each had two points.
Taylor 35,Watts 13
Andrew Jurnovoy had 13 points for Taylor, Chris Taylor had eight points, Westin Demotts had five points, Hayden Hill had four points, Alex Meade had three points, and Cody King had two points.
Taylor Busbee had four points for Watts, while Jacob Doyle and Blake Meredith had three points, and Bobby Radcliffe had two points. 13-14 Boys

Jordan Bennett had 12 points for Battel; John Baldwin, Caleb Harris, and Jeffery Smith each had four points, and Jordan Battel had two points.
Sammy Byrne and Jacob Hoehn each had six points for Morrison, Hunter Byrne had three points, Colin Brewer had two points, and Jacob Greer had one point.

Andrew Zambetti had 15 points for Adkins; Zack Batson had seven points, while Tyler Miller and Michael Simhachalan each had two points.
